Working..

Well, I decided it was time for a new post, as I'm terrible at doing it weekly, or anything like that!

Recently, I've been having fun with work. Wanting a new job as working in a Post Office at £3.75/hour doesn't go far, especially when only working 22.5 hours a week. I got told about an apprenticeship at BA doing plane engineer (fixing planes pretty much) but as it turns out, you have to go to college for a year and then get chosen by an airline, which isn't really what I wanted and I've worked out that I couldn't afford to go a year without a job, and working less hours won't go as far as what I'm currently getting anyway. By August I want to have saved up spending money for my holiday in turkey (I have paid of the flight now so that's a weight off my mind) and saved up for a car plus the insurance etc for it. Hoping to get my 'big break' doing technical work, but that doesn't seem like it is coming anytime soon, which is a shame.

I'm not trying to sound like I expect work to come to me, but to get into technical work, you have to talk to the right people so that I know that you exist, and then the right job has to come up for them to ask you to go with them - possibly ending in getting a full time job. Along with the Am-Dram groups I'm part of which I do tech at, I love doing it, it's friendly and I've learnt so much through it. I've heard about people that have started of like that and it just happened to be the right person was sitting in the audience to notice exceptional work for some reason or another and it's ending in them getting a job at Shepperton Studios on professional film sets or something on the lines of that. I would love for something like that to happen to me, but it's an opportunity that arises very rarely.

In other news, I'm hopefully doing a show next month, so I will try and do a post on that, say about the things we do etc. And I will hopefully be doing a post for my sisters blog, about what it's like having my sister and mum both living with MS which I will probably post on here as well.
