Living with MS

I was asked by my sister to do a post for her blog ( I Am Not MS ) on what it is like having a sister and mum both living Multiple Sclerosis (MS). I was asked to do this a little while ago, so it may be a bit late.. but here it is: I can't remember exactly how long ago my mum was diagnosed with MS, I think I must have been in year 3 or 4, so that would make me 7 or 8 years old. At first I didn't really know the impact of it, other than my mum was ill and it meant that she couldn't do as much as she used to. She couldn't walk, or drive or even work. There were a few books that I was given to help me understand, and now at the age of 16, I can't remember what most of them said, but one thing I did remember. It's like getting a kink in a hosepipe, so the water can't flow through it - now I know more about the symptoms of MS and how they affect the persons body, I see how the metaphor works. MS attacks the nervous systems, meaning that the signal going from yo...

Working..

Well, I decided it was time for a new post, as I'm terrible at doing it weekly, or anything like that! Recently, I've been having fun with work. Wanting a new job as working in a Post Office at £3.75/hour doesn't go far, especially when only working 22.5 hours a week. I got told about an apprenticeship at BA doing plane engineer (fixing planes pretty much) but as it turns out, you have to go to college for a year and then get chosen by an airline, which isn't really what I wanted and I've worked out that I couldn't afford to go a year without a job, and working less hours won't go as far as what I'm currently getting anyway. By August I want to have saved up spending money for my holiday in turkey (I have paid of the flight now so that's a weight off my mind) and saved up for a car plus the insurance etc for it. Hoping to get my 'big break' doing technical work, but that doesn't seem like it is coming anytime soon, which is a shame.  ...

Wreck It Ralph

I was meant to write a review about the film 'Wreck It Ralph' last Monday, but I didn't get around to it, or could be bothered.  I went to see 'Wreck It Ralph' on Monday with a mate of mine, it may be a film for kids, but it was absolutely brilliant! Saw it in 3D and I didn't really  notice the 3D so much, so still seemed 2D... The only film I think that was epic in 3D was The Hobbit, but that's another story :)  Couldn't help but think they had thought it all through really well!. As it turns out this isn't really a review, I would have written a bit more but it's taken me the best part of a week to do one paragraph, so I'll leave it there On another note, needing to start looking for another job as work has started to piss me around and piss me off, so will be making a couple of phone calls over the weekend hopefully! It would be very nice to find a job doing lighting and sound, which is what I want to do, but we'll see. Well this ...
